About

International Society for Krishna Consciousness, also popularly known as the Hare Krishna movement is a spiritual society founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in July 1966 in New York. ISKCON belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradaya, a monotheistic tradition within Vedic culture. Today ISKCON comprises of more than 400 temples, 40 rural communities and over 100 vegetarian restaurants.

YOUTH TRAINING

The purpose of this program is Training the students in the application of Vedic philosophy with its values and principles and creating perfect leaders through balanced academic and spiritual life.

HOME SATSANG

We at ISKCON Trichy facilitate this program for the benefit of one and all. Any one can invite us to their homes for conducting bhajan kirtan, and discussions on Krishna consciousness when ever they desire and enjoy the sweetness of Krishna consciousness which would mitigate the manifold sufferings….

FOOD FOR LIFE

We are in the 21st century and still fighting against the problem of malnutrition. According to a report, around 30% of India’s population is suffering from this problem. We all know that with an empty stomach, we cannot claim to be a superpower.

For the First time in the History ISKCON Trichy Organizes Ekadasi Sravana KIRTAN FESTIVAL on 16th October 2021 (Saturday), 5 pm to 7 pm.

Sankirtan: ‘san’ means together. It also has another meaning: complete. There is no more complete way to glorify the Lord than with sankirtan. There are many ways to glorify the Lord, but sankirtan is the most complete. We at ISKCON Trichy cordially invites you and your Family and Friends to join KIRTAN FESTIVAL.

VIDYARAMBHAM

Vidyarambham (Sanskrit: विद्यारम्भम्) is a Hindu tradition, which introduces young children into the world of knowledge, letters, and the process of learning. This ceremony can be performed for a child between the age of 2-5 years. ... It involves a ceremony of initiation into the characters of the syllabary.


ANNAPRASANA

Regarded as one of the most important rituals, Annaprashana is a Sanskrit word which translates into 'food feeding', and since it is the first time that a child consumes food in solid form it is celebrated with a lot of joy by the whole family, relatives and friends.

Kheer or payasam is the first solid food fed to a baby, and hence is an integral part of Annaprashan. It's generally prepared by the mother or grandmother and served to the baby in a silver vessel.
